The material of empty blood collecting tubes: Nowadays, collection tubes for blood are mostly made of glass material. The pH of ordinary glass is very different, and the possibility of hemolysis is greatly increased. However, the glass test tubes made by the tube drawing process are densely distributed with linear grooves, and the depth and thickness are variable, which leads to the hanging of cells. Compared with neutral glass (medicinal glass), the advantages are obvious. Neutral glass has the advantages of pressure resistance, less dissolved substances, tight molecular arrangement, and less grooves during stretching, but it still has disadvantages such as excessive negative surface charge and relative dissolution of pb2+, Zn2+, K+, and Fe2+. These may change the original properties of blood samples, so glass test tubes should be sterile and lined before use. The traditional inner wall treatment is silicification, that is, the silicone oil is dispersed in ether and ethanol, and the coating tube wall is dried or baked.Since silicone oil is a very inert mixture, it is impossible to have any chemical interaction with the glass surface, but only adheres to the inner wall of the test tube and has low fastness. In addition, the silicone oil has a coating effect on the organic acid radical of the pre-added anticoagulant, so that the complexing ability of the reagent is lost, resulting in coagulation. At present, the best treatment method is cobalt 60 irradiation and deionized water rinsing to ensure sterility, smoothness, and no foreign matter, and effectively prevent hemolysis. The inner wall of the blood collection tube without additives is coated with silicone to prevent blood cells from attaching to the wall and prevent cells from being broken during centrifugation. However, from the perspective of environmental protection and safety, vacuum blood collection tubes made of plastic materials are lightweight and easy to transport, with low damage rate, and can be directly autoclaved or incinerated after use, which will be a great trend in the selection of vacuum blood collection tubes.

The constant vacuum enables the blood collection object to maintain a relatively accurate blood collection volume even if there are differences in blood pressure and blood viscosity, as well as changes in the temperature of the blood collection environment, and the actual blood collection volume error can be controlled within ±5%.The source of error is mainly the change of blood viscosity and the accidental error of operation, and the other hand is the slight difference in the diameter of the test tube. Modern blood collection tubes are mostly designed with double-layer caps. The inner layer of the rubber soft plug coated with lubricant is covered with a textured plastic tube cover, which makes it extremely easy to open, and its side-sliding opening method can prevent blood from splashing. The ridge-shaped design of the rubber plug makes the cover more secure, and the concave part on the top of the cover can prevent contact with blood samples and reduce blood contamination to operators.
